About the role

As a Body Control Feature ECU Engineer at 42dot, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and validating the electronic control systems that manage key vehicle body functions. From lighting and wipers to climate control and power windows, your work will ensure seamless operation across the vehicle’s core convenience systems—all integrated through a modern, centralized ECU architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the Body Control Feature ECU architecture, focusing on microcontroller-based control logic, I/O management, and communication interfaces (CAN, DLIP, Ethernet).

  • ​Develop and integrate features such as:

  • Exterior and interior lighting systems (automatic lighting, DRLs)

  • Central locking and access (key fob, proximity sensors, immobilizer)

  • Power windows, mirrors, and seat control (auto-fold, anti-pinch, memory)

  • Windshield wipers and washers (including rain-sensing)

  • HVAC system interfaces and control

  • Translate system requirements into software and hardware specifications.

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, embedded software developers, and vehicle integration teams to ensure robust and secure system performance.

  • Validate Body Control Feature functionality through bench testing, HiL, and in-vehicle evaluations.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.

  • ​Contribute to diagnostic readiness and OTA update capabilities.

  • Stay current with centralized architecture and SDV (software-defined vehicle) innovations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development for automotive applications, particularly in body electronics or similar domains.

  • Strong programming proficiency in embedded C/C++.

  • In-depth understanding of automotive communication protocols, especially CAN, DLIP, and Ethernet.

  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic workflows and ECU testing environments.

  • Familiarity with functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and secure development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with centralized or software-defined vehicle platforms.

  • Exposure to Rust programming for embedded or systems-level applications.

  • Experience with in-vehicle testing, automation frameworks, or supplier management.

  • Korean language proficiency is a plus for cross-functional collaboration.

Base Salary: $120,000 - $265,000
