We are looking for the best

Own the end‑to‑end software release lifecycle for Pleos – 42dot’s unified vehicle platform—spanning autonomous‑driving components, software‑defined‑vehicle (SDV) features, cloud‑connected services, and over‑the‑air (OTA) update pipelines that keep deployed fleets running the latest, safest code. From defining a Git branching model and semantic‑versioning rules to automating CI/CD, orchestrating company‑wide sprint planning, generating SBOMs, and publishing audit‑ready release notes, you’ll make sure every code change ships fast, traceably, and safely.

42dot is building Pleos, a comprehensive vehicle‑intelligence and connected‑services platform designed to deliver autonomous, software‑defined mobility at scale. As Senior Release Manager, you’ll be the single point of truth for how code becomes product across embedded vehicle ECUs, in‑car apps, Pleos Vehicle OS, cloud services, OTA distribution systems, and data pipelines, coordinating cross‑functional teams, tooling, and compliance gates so millions of lines of code reach vehicles—and customers—with zero surprises.

Responsibilities

  • Branching & versioning governance – Design and roll out a Gitflow‑inspired strategy (main/develop/release/hotfix) with enforced PR checks, protected branches, and semantic tags.

  • Enterprise sprint planning & issue tracking – Own the company‑wide sprint planning cadence, backlog refinement rituals, and Jira/GitLab issue‑tracking workflows; ensure clear scope, dependency management, and alignment to release goals for all Pleos subsystems.

  • CI/CD & OTA pipeline ownership – Build resilient pipelines (build → test → sign → deploy) in Jenkins / GitLab CI that create releases from tags, sign artifacts, and auto‑promote between identical environments spanning Pleos Vehicle OS firmware, in‑vehicle apps, cloud micro‑services, and staged OTA rollout rings.

  • Configuration & source‑control hygiene – Establish repo structure, secret‑management patterns, and traceability practices that satisfy ISO 26262, ASPICE, and cloud‑security change‑control mandates.

  • Release orchestration: Run release trains, own calendars, chair go/no‑go meetings, coordinate subsystem merges, and keep executives updated on risk and readiness across the Pleos platform.

  • DevOps metrics & continuous improvement – Instrument DORA metrics (lead‑time, deployment frequency, change‑failure rate, MTTR) and drive Kaizen loops to hit elite targets.

  • Incident, rollback & fleet‑health readiness – Define rollback hooks, staged OTA waves, blue-green/canary patterns, and incident‑response playbooks that minimize customer impact across vehicle fleets and cloud environments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading release management, build‑&‑release engineering, or program management for complex, multi‑repo products—ideally spanning embedded systems, cloud services, and mobile/infotainment apps.

  • Expert knowledge of Git branching & merge strategies, GitHub/GitLab workflows, and artifact repositories.

  • Hands‑on with CI/CD toolchains (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo, GitHub Actions) and containerized build systems.

  • Strong scripting (Bash, Python) on Linux; able to debug build systems (CMake, Bazel, Meson, etc.).

  • Clear, concise communicator who can influence engineering, QA, product, and operations without authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven hands‑on experience designing, delivering, and monitoring secure OTA update systems for vehicles, IoT, or other distributed embedded platforms (A/B partitioning, delta updates, artifact signing, staged rollout).

  • Demonstrated success in releasing safety‑critical or regulated software (ISO 26262, DO‑178C, SOX, FedRAMP).

  • Experience delivering software‑defined vehicle features, OTA updates to large vehicle fleets, and cloud‑based connected‑service rollouts at scale (100k+ devices).

  • Familiarity with GitOps, progressive delivery (canary, blue‑green), and supply‑chain security (SBOM, SLSA).

  • Prior work in Autonomous Driving, ADAS, Robotics, or Connected Mobility Services environments.
